The creek is a great place for spotting waterfowl and it's surprisingly deep for such a small body of water. It was pretty windy, so we didn't spend much time on the lake. My in-laws live along the Elk River in Minnesota, so while the kids were visiting they spent some time hiking in the woods and walking along the water. Creek</title><summary type='text'>On April 2, Tammy and Jodi paid a visit to the source of the Chetek Chain of Lakes. The weather was perfect--50's and sunny--especially in hindsight as we're dealing with sub-freezing temperatures and snow for the rest of the week.This creek (we still aren't sure exactly which one it is) is very marshy with ideal habitat for nesting waterfowl.
